Our learning environments
Nursery
4 weeks to 2 years old
Our nursery caters for 20 children and has two adjoining rooms:
• Gumnuts (9 children)
• Possums (11 children)
Managed by our longest-serving and most-experienced staff members, our nursery has a wide range of resources and equipment for children to explore their environment and expand their knowledge by feeling different textures, hearing sounds, seeing, smelling, and tasting new things for the very first time.
We welcome and support breastfeeding mothers by providing comfortable spaces for feeding and partnering with mothers to tailor individual breastfeeding times for their babies. We also have the facilities and knowledge to enable the storing, handling, and feeding of expressed milk.
Regardless of whether they are breastfeeding, parents are welcome to visit, play or feed their baby at any time during the day.

Toddlers
18 months to 3 years old
We cater for 22 toddlers across two rooms:
• Kangaroos (11 children)
• Kookaburras (11 children)
Toddlers are curious, busy little people who learn through experiencing and experimenting. Our large, airy playrooms and connected outdoor play area give our toddlers a range of play-based activities to challenge and extend their developmental skills, including messy play, arts and craft, climbing, and riding bikes.
At this stage of their development, our toddlers are developing the skills they need to become ‘good friends’ — including learning to communicate, negotiate, share and take turns. They're also learning important self-help skills such as independent toileting and eating.
Our toddlers take regular visits to the preschool rooms to help them prepare for the next stage in their development.
Preschool
3 years old to school age
places available
Our preschool caters for 42 children across two rooms:
• Echidnas (20 children, ages 3-4)
• Geckos (22 children, ages 4-5)
Our pre-schoolers have a large outdoor play area with magnificent views of Lake Burley Griffin.
Children of this age are starting to use reasoning and problem-solving skills, planning what they want to do, what they will need and where to start and can vocalise their wants and needs. They're also continuing to develop their independence — including starting to care for their own belongings and toilet independently — and the social skills required to build real friendships.
In our Gecko Room (for children aged 4 to school aged), our pre-schoolers are introduced to a range of play experiences to build on their skills in readiness for school, including activities that will develop their literacy and mathematical skills.
